Mancelona, MI — Schuss Mountain in Belaire is the site of this year's State Finals and one of the most challenging race venues in Michigan and the Scots skied it like it was their home hill on Monday. The Clare Invitational, which had 11 boys ski teams from all over Michigan, is a great warm up race before the Regionals and the Scots shifted into another gear. "Coming into the race, we knew our guys were skiing great and were starting to find another level of fast. All season long we have either won the races we were in or took 2nd and these guys focus on team skiing has really helped us push other teams back in the standings." Coach Petrosky. "All season long, it has been leading by committee. We never really know which guy will lead the team but we do know that everyone will be right with them. Today we won slalom, with four guys earning medals in the event and took second in giant slalom with three medals brought home. Our clump of scores really helped create a separation between 2nd the rest of the teams and we are very proud of the effort of our guys today!" Earning medals at the race were: Jake Potgeter (2nd SL & 10th GS), Jackson Otto (6th SL & 11th GS), James Prichard (15th SL &n 15th GS), and Aidan Brown (11th SL), who also placed 16th in gs rounding out the scoring skiers for the meet. Caledonia's next race is the Regional race on Monday February 9th at Caberfae Peaks.
