The Caledonia Girls Track & Field Team secured their first victory of the season by a score of 119-18 over the Big Reds of Muskegon. One of the major highlights was Brynn Ward breaking the oldest school record in the books for the 100m Dash! Brynn ran a time of 12.72s breaking the old school record by .02s! Chris Stegehuis set this record in the first year of Caledonia's girls track and field program 49 years ago in 1977. The Ladies had 15 1st place finishes in the 17 event meet: Long Jump- Averi Rosted High Jump- Lydia Bell Discus- Mackenzie Krentz Shot Put- Mya Vanderzand Pole Vault- Lilli Ward 3200m Relay- Allyson Strang, Hannah Bennett, Cora Draft, Sophia Douglass 100m Hurdles- Olivia Hawkins 100m Dash- Brynn Ward 1600m Run- Akaela Daman 400m Relay- Mariah Peterson, Averi Rosted, Melanie Genao Grullon, Addisyn Gerken 400m Dash- Brynn Ward 300m Hurdles- Olivia Hawkins Olivia Hawkins broke the junior class record in the 300m Hurdles (previously held by Kayla Wilson, 47.8, 2005) with a time of 47.36! 800m Run- Anna VanderWal 3200m Run- Akaela Daman 1600m Relay- Isabelle Horning, Olivia Hawkins, Evie Huttenga, Isla Sheely Complete results can be found here.
