The Fighting Scots had a tall task entering play as top ranked and defending state champion Bulldogs who have allowed just one goal all season. In the first half, Goalkeeper Lilli Ward and the defense withstood the pressure by the Bulldogs for a scoreless first 40 minutes. The Bulldogs would record nine corner kicks and eight shots on goal in the first half compared to one shot on goal for Caledonia, which came from Kortney Muller in the 25th minute. Byron Center had fewer shots on goal in the second half, but made the most of those chances. They broke the scoreless tie in the 52nd minute and added an insurance goal 10 minutes later. Natalie James had the lone shot on goal for Caledonia in the second half on a free kick in the 69th minute from 26 yards.
